If you show a template preview that is wrong, it will really confuse users, especially if they look at the preview to see whether FP "knows" about their recent changes. I don't know what that means and didn't find anything searching the wiki. Dimitry mentioned that maps can be "synchronized" to templates.
Do changes to a template affect maps that were previously created based on that template? I think they don't, and if they do then they shouldn't, unless the user takes positive action to set them to update based on changes to the template.Ģ. It seems that this new option in the dev version raises a few issues:ġ.
They can also better test changes by seeing their impact on a real map rather than just a template. The goal here is to make it easier for users to change styles in the current map without having to open the Manage Styles editor, and easier for users working on a map to change styles in a template without having to manually open the template, make changes there, save those changes, and apply them to the current map.
